A Unit Commitment Model Considering Feasibility of Operating Reserves under Stochastic Optimization Framework

Grid integration of renewable resources such as solar and wind energy can significantly raise the level uncertainty in power systems, making scheduled operation generating units difficult. Therefore, importance operating reserves is more emphasized to prevent disruption by sudden changes outputs generators. In this paper, a stochastic unit commitment (UC) model reflect due large amount proposed, which upward downward are deployed simultaneously, feasibility examined make supplied reliably. Uncertain parameters considered availability, direct normal irradiance, electric load. Two-stage programming applied mathematical formulation, where UC decisions including dispatch modeled non-anticipative variables at first stage, redispatch serve realized demand made second stage recourse. By solving problem, feasible reliable solutions be provided system operators.
